T/5 CPL Alwyn H. Skarda was killed on 30 September 1944, while serving in France. T/5 CPL was assigned to the 144th Ordnance Bomb Disposal Squad (Separate). T/5 CPL Skarda was killed when a German anti-tank hand grenade that was awaiting disposal detonated. T/5 CPL Skarda was reportedly a very cautious bomb tech and no one knows what happen for sure.
