CPT George H. Fischer

CPT George Arthur Fischer was killed on 1 April 1968. CPT Fischer was assigned to the 3^rd Ordnance Battalion (Ammunition), Explosive Ordnance Disposal Section, 53^rd General Support Group, Army Support Command Saigon, 1^st Logistical Command, Long Binh, Bien Hoa Province (today called Binh Duong Province), Republic of Vietnam.  CPT Fischer died as a result of burns while sleeping when his room in the Bachelor Officer Quarters at 3^rd Ordnance Battalion (Ammunition), Long Binh, Republic of Vietnam took a direct hit from a 122mm rocket.  The rocket exploded next to his bed on the first floor.  CPT Fischer posthumously received the Purple Heart Medal.
