CSM Jonathan Miles Lankford, Sr., died on 22 September 2007. CSM Lankford was assigned to the 79th Ordnance Battalion (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), 71st Ordnance Group (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), 20th Support Command (CBRNE). CSM Lankford died in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. It is believed at this time CSM Lankford died of natural causes associated from a heart attack.
