EOD2 Taylor J. Gallant

Petty Officer Taylor J. Gallant was born November 28, 1989 in Lexington, KY. He graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, KY in June 2008. Petty Officer Gallant enlisted in the Navy and reported to Naval Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois on December 16, 2008. Taylor completed basic training in February 2009. He was selected for EOD training and successfully completed the intense training of Navy EOD dive school in in Panama City, FL in June 2009 and EOD School at Eglin AFB, FL in July 2010. After EOD graduation, Petty Officer Gallant trained in the remaining series of qualifications in jump school at Ft. Benning, GA; expeditionary combat skills training in Gulfport, MS; and EOD tactical training in San Diego, CA. Petty Officer Gallant then reported to his station at EOD Mobile Unit TWELVE at the Amphibious Base Little Creek in Virginia Beach, VA, where he continued to train and gain further qualifications.

Petty Officer Gallant’s awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Expert Pistol Medal.

Petty Officer Taylor Gallant is survived by his 2-year old son Ethan, his 6- year old son Harrison, his children’s mother Christie, his grandparents Barbara and William, his mother Beth, his brother Kyle, his father Joseph Gallant, paternal grandmother Bernadette Gallant, and numerous other family, friends, and teammates.
