SFC Jeffrey C. Baker

Sergeant First Class Jeffrey C. Baker, 29, from Hesperia, CA joined the Army in October 2004. He was on his second deployment when he died May 14, 2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Baker was assigned to 766th Ordnance Company (Fort Stewart, GA), 63rd Ordnance Battalion, 52d Ordnance Group.  Baker died from wounds suffered while conducting EOD operations in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.  Among his awards were the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals, both posthumous. SFC Baker is survived by his wife, Vicki, and his daughter Audrey.
