SSG Eric S. Trueblood

Staff Sergeant Eric S. Trueblood was born on January 24, 1984 in Gillette, Wyoming. He enlisted in the Army on May 15, 2003, earned the MOS 63W, and was assigned to the 557th Maintenance Company at Fort Irwin, California. Staff Sergeant Trueblood deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 699th Maintenance Company from 2004 – 2005. Staff Sergeant Trueblood deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) from 2006 – 2007. Staff Sergeant Trueblood graduated from Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal and began his career as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician with the 720th EOD Company at Spinelli Barracks in Mannheim, Germany. He deployed to Afghanistan in February 2011 as an EOD Team Leader with the 720th EOD Company in support of OEF. 

Staff Sergeant Trueblood’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device, two Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, two Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, “Silver” Schutzenschnur, Combat Action Badge, Basic EOD Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Driver’s Badge. 

Staff Sergeant Trueblood is survived by his parents Donald and Linda Trueblood.

    I just came upon sergeant true blood’s memorial bench in a park in Alameda. I’m prior service and I was deeply moved by The lovely display of flowers and the 2 cans of budweisers sitting on the bench. Rest in peace brother
