SSG Kristopher Linwood Shepherd was killed on 11 February 2005. SSG Shepherd was assigned to the 767th Ordnance Company (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), 63rd Ordnance Battalion (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), 52nd Ordnance Group (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), 20thSupport Command (CBRNE). SSG Shepherd was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated during clearing operations in Baghdad, Iraq. SSG Shepherd received the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart Medal posthumously.
