T/5 Frank L. Dickenson

T/5 CPL Frank L. Dickinson was killed on 27 February 1945.  T/5 CPL Dickinson was assigned to 113thOrdnance Bomb Disposal Squad. The bomb disposal unit was tasked with the collection of U.S. and German ordnance located on or near the main supply routes.  The 113th Ordnance Bomb Disposal Squad was using ammunition handlers and truck drivers from units in their area.  T/5 CPL Dickinson was using a driver and four ammunition handlers to assist him.  T/5 CPL Dickinson was instructed to unload the German ordnance in an ammunition storage area near Distorff, France.  While traveling down the Moselle Road near Thronville, France his truck struck a rut.  The resulting accident caused an explosion killing him, his driver, and the four ammunition handlers.
